aisle seven

she stands

pushchair blocking the aisle

staring absent-mindedly

at the shelves of tinned pasta shapes

red faced child unheeded

a litany of lovers

those that swore they’d never leave

etched in blue

running down the forearm

  1. I like your banner/header.

  2. Someone you saw in the store?

This made me think of Randall Jarrell’s “Next Day”—have you read that one? There could be a whole book of supermarket poems.
